The Ecosystem Management Research Institute is a non-profit organization that specializes in describing, mapping, and restoring native ecosystem diversity and conducting ecological assessments to support appropriate human land uses and landscape-level biodiversity conservation efforts. Our goal is to provide the best available scientific information and data to support land-management decisions. We believe that even the most complex land management issues can be addressed using practical, scientifically-sound frameworks to help guide fair and effective resolutions. The key to maintaining or restoring ecosystem services and providing wild and working landscapes into the future, especially in the age of climate change, will be enhanced with an understanding of historical conditions and how we have changed the landscape over the last 100+ years.

To accomplish our mission we’ve assembled an expert and innovative staff, with access to a diversity of additional affiliated personnel throughout the U.S. and Canada.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about EMRI's unique skills and diverse range of programs and projects. To discuss how EMRI can assist with your conservation efforts, please contact us at your earliest convenience.
